Understanding Laser Hair Removal Results

At Emerald Med Spa, we want our clients to have realistic expectations about laser hair removal. While laser treatments are highly effective at significantly reducing unwanted hair, they are not a permanent hair removal method. The only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal is electrolysis.
Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair follicles to slow and reduce hair growth. Over a series of sessions, you will notice smoother skin and fewer hairs in the treated area. However, because hair growth is influenced by factors like hormones, genetics, and skin type, maintenance sessions (touch-ups) are needed to keep your results over time.
The number of sessions you will need—and how often you’ll require touch-ups—will depend on how your skin and hair respond to the treatment. Every person’s results are unique, and your technician will guide you through a plan tailored to your needs.
Laser hair removal is a fantastic long-term solution for hair reduction, but it’s important to remember:
It offers reduction, not complete and forever removal.
Touch-up sessions are part of maintaining your results.
Your experience will be unique to your skin and hair.
Safety First at Emerald Med Spa

At Emerald Med Spa, your safety and results are our top priority. Before starting any laser hair removal treatment, you will be required to sign a comprehensive consent and waiver form. This form clearly explains:
-
Contraindications for laser hair removal (such as pregnancy, active skin infections, use of photosensitizing medications, recent tanning, history of keloid scarring, certain hormonal conditions, and uncontrolled medical issues).
-
Pre-treatment instructions, including avoiding sun exposure, self-tanners, waxing, and depilatory creams before your session.
-
Post-treatment care, such as protecting the treated area from the sun, avoiding heat exposure, and following any skincare recommendations provided by your technician.

We also remind all clients to always report any changes in their medical history before each session. This helps us keep your treatment safe and effective.
At Emerald Med Spa, we use a new generation diode laser that offers precision, comfort, and excellent results while minimizing the risk for all skin types. Our trained professionals tailor each treatment to your unique skin and hair profile, ensuring you receive the safest and most effective care possible.

Showering
You should not shower immediately after receiving LHR. The amount of time one should wait varies from patient to patient, and sometimes from doctor to doctor. Generally, however, some may advise abstaining from showering or bathing for up to 48 hours. Even though LHR targets follicles, your skin is still likely to be sensitive for a short period of time, and this may mean that you must temporarily alter your bathing routine.
